Many hearing aids today can connect to smartphones and other bluetooth-enabled devices directly. In the past, wearers needed to wear an additional device called a streamer to utilize bluetooth from other devices. Modern hearing aids can connect directly, allowing the use to stream the audio from music, video and phone calls to their ears. This adds a new level of convenience and increases acceptance and usage of hearing devices. Depending on the which type of smartphone a person uses (Android or Apple), certain hearing aids may be better than others.
